I started online Pilates classes with Jane via Zoom in January this year.
Hand on heart can say her classes are the highlight of my week in lockdown!
I was concerned that I would struggle to keep up online as I’d missed the first couple of weeks and knew the other participants had already done a term. I did not need to be concerned. Jane is a brilliant teacher, she gives instructions verbally as well as demonstrating the routines and ensures everyone is following. As well as carrying out the practice herself she manages to keep an eye on everyone and correct where necessary in a gentle and understanding manner.
The pace is perfect and she sets out the 3 levels for each movement so it suits all abilities. Jane has a vast knowledge of the body and takes time to educate us on the physiology behind each movement. I always feel really good after her classes both physically and mentally. Jane is an incredible teacher who I could not recommend more highly.
Many cynical sporty men may have reservations about Pilates but the results of a stronger core in just 6 months has shone through in my tennis, boxing and running. Relief to tired shoulders and better flexibility has really helped long work hours during lock down too. At the core of these results has been Jane’s thoughtfully structured classes, well guided instructions and knowledgeable explanations. Attending with colleagues also allows for some laughs and has built team work. I have extended term after term and couldn’t recommend her more. Thank you Jane!
I am not a sporty person but I was suffering from sciatica and I was advised to practise Pilates to seek relief from back pain. Jane’s studio was in front of my office so I enrolled in my first Pilates course in February 2017, since then I have been attending Jane’s Pilates lessons. I found Jane’s lessons to be very beneficial for my back and I have no sciatic pain now. I have greatly improved my posture and built up my muscles. I am more flexible and balanced. I enjoy the Pilates lessons and I feel much better.
Jane is a highly competent and easy-going teacher, capable of adjusting her lessons to our individual needs. The lessons have a good pace. Their structure is always well balanced, alternating strength movements and relaxation poses; with a host of exercises that constantly change from one lesson to another. Jane explains the exercises in a super simple way, giving us the possibility to choose from what level we want to work at that day. She also shows movements from different angles so we move correctly. I find it easy to follow her instructions. She supervises us while we are doing our exercises, prompts to correct any of our possible wrongdoings, even now that we have on-line lessons.
If you wish to keep fit and healthy then Jane’s weekly one-hour online Pilates classes are what you need. They suit both novices and pros: for each exercise Jane describes several levels that it can be tackled, depending on your strength and inclination. Class numbers are small, 6-8, which allows Jane to check and guide us individually. Newcomers especially will find this a welcoming place to start Pilates.
I have been coming along to Jane’s classes for the last 12 years. The classes are welcoming and friendly. Class sizes are small so that Jane can adapt exercises to suit all levels and monitor techniques. My core strength and posture have improved greatly since attending Jane’s classes and I heartily recommend them.
