Payment is made by bank transfer each term on or before the start date.
Please Note!
There are no one-off / drop-in classes offered, as it is important that you progress on a weekly basis safely and slowly through the term together with the other class members in your class for continuity. This allows you to build strength and better movement patterns at home with confidence.
There is however the flexibility of making up classes if missed during a term when prior notice is given.
Before you begin
Ideally, you will have a yoga/Pilates mat to lie on and yoga/Pilates block for your head, but at the beginning a bath towel will do and 2-3 magazines to support your head. You will need a computer or tablet to join in (phone screens are too small to see you clearly). A warm, quiet space in your home or office is the best environment – make sure you have enough room to lie flat comfortably and stretch your arms behind you and legs out in front. You will also need to have space to circle your arms around you on the floor area. You can wear gym wear or loose clothing to move around in (but not too loose that I can’t see your body clearly) and wear socks.
Once you’ve been coming for a while and to add variety and interest, you can use various props such as balls, bands and foam rollers, guidance is given in where to source these. The exercises can all be performed without props if you prefer not to use them.
Handy info is given out if you want to develop your Pilates practice between classes and you can get in touch at anytime if you have any questions and would like more advice.
We go over how to set up your device and positioning in your 1:1 consultation.

1:1 Personal Induction Session
Mandatory FREE 1:1 personal induction 1-hour session (consultation, preliminary postural assessment and 30-minute class) prior to joining the term of online classes.
This session includes taking details of any health conditions, muscle/joint issues and past injuries that you may have. It’s important to discuss what you would like to get from the classes and any goals you would like to achieve, in order to find the best class for you. Starting anything new can feel daunting and this is an opportunity to take time to make you feel welcome.
During the introductory session, some basic Pilates moves are shown to give you a feel for the way the classes are taught before starting. Through the 1:1 class I can personally support and guide you, and also ascertain what level of class you should be joining so you get the most out of the Pilates classes safely in your own home going forward.
Join Together
Perhaps you work for a company and would like to do a Pilates class with your colleagues online or you have friends or family members that you would like to meet in a group to do a class. It’s fun to get together and connect through exercise.

I really see people improve in balance, flexibility and strength through the terms particularly those coming twice per week. I also have experience of running a class for a company and the participants find great benefit from coming together and meeting each week in a Pilates class setting. Adding regular Pilates practice into your life for health and well-being really does work. Get in touch for more information about availability and l look forward to seeing you soon.

Testimonials

Iain
I’ve been attending Jane’s online Pilates classes for the past year and have found them a great way to improve strength, flexibility and posture. Jane even organised a group class for our Edinburgh office of Nikko AM which meant we could do an activity together outside of work even during lockdown. The classes have really helped my health and wellness overall and the strength and flexibility helped me lower my golf handicap for the first time in longer than I care to remember!

Jane has been teaching me Pilates for 4 years and has taken me from being an absolute beginner to being far stronger and more flexible. She’s great, always patient and inclusive. Jane supported me to continue Pilates up until the 37th week of my pregnancy, and I really believe that regular Pilates helped me have a very smooth pregnancy, uncomplicated delivery and quick recovery.
The online classes are a perfect break from working at home, accessible and varied, with options for people at all levels. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone who wants a friendly, relaxed and enjoyable class in the convenience of their own living room!

I used to attend Jane’s in person pilates’s classes when I lived in Edinburgh but stopped when I moved north for work. However the online classes have allowed me to start up again and are really easy to fit into my day as I don’t need to worry about travel and traffic. I find Jane’s pilates are an enjoyable way to relieve the tightness that builds up from working at a desk all day and strengthen my body to prevent running injuries. Since starting back with Jane I feel much stronger, more flexible and have less niggles.
The classes are designed to be suitable for people of all abilities from complete beginner to intermediate/ advanced. For each move different levels of difficulty are demonstrated so people can work to the level that suits them and have the freedom to progress at their own speed. Jane is also great at adapting or providing substitute moves for people who have injuries, are pregnant or have longer term back troubles. Also despite being remote Jane has a keen eye and is very good at checking people’s form and providing coaching cues to ensure everyone is doing the moves properly (and get the most out of the classes). One advantage of the online classes is that you can easily check your form by looking at your own camera image and it is easier to focus on yourself and doing moves that are at the right level for you rather than trying to do the same as everyone around you.
